This week's blog of the week comes to you all the way from Washington D.C.
I am sure that it surprises you that I would be enamoured by a blog entitled Everything Pink. I am not even sure how I stumbled across her site but I am glad that I did. Kristi is the creator of this blog and has the life that I want. She is a SAHM with 3 beautiful girls and is uber creative.
Last year she came up the idea of Pink Christmas.
It was July and she was starting to brainstorm for Christmas projects and decided it would be fun to host a swap. Every one who signed up was given another's name and they either hand crafted or purchased a Christmas Gift for this person to be shipped before Christmas. Starting the process in July allowed for plenty of time for those who decided to go the hand crafted route. Look here and scroll down to see pictures of all of the gifts that were exchanged. I am so excited for the big event this year - I have signed up and already know what I am going to make.
One of the things that I love about her is her enthusiasm to learn about and experience all that surrounds her. Since she moved to Washington D.C. just about a year ago she has been making sure to visit all of the monuments and historical sites in the area. She knows where the best thrift stores are and has discovered a ribbon outlet where she buys ribbon by the bolt. She was asked to do a presentation for Enrichment night about what there is to do in the D.C. area. Click here for a great check list that I think would be a great resource when planning your trip to the capital.
Another thing that makes her a kindred spirit is her love for quilting. She recently worked with the senior girls in her ward to make quilts and brought her oldest daughter along with her own sewing machine to enjoy the night. Checkout the blocks they made and her cute daughter Annie Kate teaching the other girls in the ward to sew.
I have so many examples of why I idolize her but I will leave you with just one more. I don't even have children but when I do I want to be this creative. Look here to see the darling teacher's gifts she created this year as well as the cute t-shirt she made for her daughter to wear that her friends from school could sign.
Can you understand why I want to be Kristi Brooke when I grow up?
