Hi Em!

I am so excited that Emily has started a blog - Kikuchi Korner. She is documenting her great life in Hawaii with her cute husband Travis. I grew up with Emily and her brothers and sister and it is safe to say that she is the baby of both of our families. I remember when she was born and became my mom's favorite child... it was OK though because Emily was such a cute and sweet little girl and has remained very cute and very sweet.

The last time I saw Emily was at her father's funeral in Houston and for the first time I looked at her and saw just how beautiful she was. I have always found her completely darling and basically adorable but this was different. I know that it was such a sad time but she just had this look about her that made her lovely - I know that sounds kind of corny but with everything that she had been dealing with emotionally she carried this look of peace.

Emily and Travis are two of my very favorite people and I love the time I get to spend with them. My very first trip to New York was a vacation planned by her mother to celebrate her graduation from BYU and it was such a fun time - we had a few adventures and only once ended up in a place that we really shouldn't have been - (ask me to elaborate on that off line).

I am so excited to add her to my family and friends list.

Aloha Emily!!!

Oh my gosh! You are WAY WAY WAY too nice! You just made my year!!!! Yes I know it's only the 6th day of the year but still!!! All of the wonderful things you said about me (none of which I deserved) could also be said about you! I have always looked up to you so much and LOVE the time I get to spend with you!

You have such a sweet heart that is rare to find and you make me do my favorite thing- laugh! I have two favorite memories with you. The first is that you taught me how to tie my shoes! I still remember sitting on your lap in my parent’s front room on Ida Lane. You and Lisa were baby sitting us and my brothers were being mean to me- shocking I know! You took me in the other room and taught me to tie my shoes. Now seriously that is priceless! I think my other favorite memory with you is having breakfast at Disneyland together with Trav while everyone else was off running crazy! How doesn’t love Mickey Mouse pancakes with a good friend? We had such a blast!

You are the best and I am so glad we found this new way to keep in touch! Aloha!
