Heureux Je Coureur

A couple of weeks ago my singles ward (church group) held a Pine Wood Derby. Being a member of the Activities Committee, I felt compelled/obligated/guilted to create my own little Pine Wood car. With the help of my father and his power-tools and some fru-fru from the scrapbook store I present to you the Happy Me Racer!!!

She weighed in at 5.5 ounces with the help of this fancy chassis I got from the Hobby store.

- 1/2 an ounce more than what is allowed. Because this was not an official derby I was allowed to race her. There were 50 entries in all! I couldn't believe how many people were there! It ended up being a big hit.

Unfortunately, The Happy Me Racer did not win anything - but she made up for it with how cute she was!

you lost even with the extra weight? Did you sand the wheels and use graffite to oil the axles?

No - I must admit I did not sand the wheels or add any type of lubricant - I think I was more concerned with how pink I could make it look...
