The Icing on the Flake II

A couple of years ago I hosted my very first Cookie Exchange - I called it The Icing on the Flake. It was a fabulous affair and I knew that I wanted to make it an annual event. Time got away from me and life got busy and it wasn't until 3 years later that I dusted off my cookie cutters and hosted the 2nd Icing on the Flake.

Now that I have been in my house for a year I am a pro when it comes to hosting little soirees. I spent the weekend before getting my house all gussied up for Christmas and prepared some yummy appetizers and had the girls each bring 6 dozen of their favorite Christmas cookies.

Here I am in my cooking apron - it looks like I am wearing a Christmas Tree hat...

What is a party without Jennifer-June! I would have to say that she is one of my best friends, EVER!

Here we have Carla, Kim, Michelle and Lynlee - I met Kim my sophomore year at BYU and am so glad we have kept in touch - she is seriously one of my favorite people. Carla is her sister-in-law and it was so fun to get to know her. Michelle is my favorite Sister-in-law as well as a great friend. And I would have to say that Lynlee is my other best friend EVER!

Here we have Michelle, Lara and Denice. I met these three girls in my Singles branch and all are just fabulous people - Michelle and Denice are two of the nicest people I know - I don't think I have ever heard them speak negatively of anyone. Lara is also very nice and I would have to say that she is the Carrie Bradshaw of the group (sans the sex) - she is the only person I know that has purchased a pair of real Manolo Blahniks. (my dream is to, one day, purchase my very own pair of Christain Laboutins)

And here is the spread - there were some AMAZING cookies this year. I am so glad I decided to have the party this year. I was so busy with work and wasn't sure if I would have the time to do everything I wanted to but it turned out perfectly!

And as the guests left they each received sweet little party favor...

Another year, another non-invite for ME. I would have served c00kies to pwn j00 all!

As a matter of fact, without me and Marta, you can barely call it a party.

Love,

Crying in CA. :-(

Hey Quelly!! I am your secret santa for the Pink Christmas shop, and I am trying to get your gift to you. I have left your address and information at home (I am visiting family for Christmas), but I have your gift with me. Would you please email me your mailing address to annlouise.williams@gmail.com? I am so sorry that this might be a little late, but I had a blast shopping for you. I hope you are doing well. Your cookie swap looks amazing!! Thanks so much, Annlouise

You are SO invited next year Mike - If you are invited you have to show up you know - If you commit to attending I will see if I can get Marta to be a special guest - that girl makes some yummy looking cookies!
